Over the past 11 years, she has led several workshops on strategies to promote literacy among Deaf children in schools for the Deaf all over India.

Arathy Manoharan is the co-founder of Young Achievers, an organization that works with young Deaf people from India to ensure that they receive the same human rights as those who are not Deaf by providing access to quality sign bilingual educational services. She graduated from the University of Delhi with a master in English Literature and from McDaniel College in Maryland, U.S.A. with a master in Deaf Education. She currently serves as an English teacher for high school students at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. Over the past 11 years, she has led several workshops on strategies to promote literacy among Deaf children in schools for the Deaf all over India.
