We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing online classes using Indian Sign Language (ISL) for the deaf community in India.
We have recently received an invitation to participate in the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Congress, a prestigious international event that will take place in South Korea from July 11 to July 15, 2023.
This is a tremendous honor for our organization, and we have been given the opportunity to present on the crucial need for an online bilingual approach (using ISL and English) to deaf education in India. We believe that this is an important opportunity to share our work with a global audience and to learn from other deaf educators and leaders from around the world.
Many of our current members, teachers, and volunteers were students of ISL Connect, and with the support they have received, they have become leaders in our organization with a heart to give back to students that have come after them. We want to support these growing leaders in attending the WFD Congress, which is a global platform and an amazing opportunity for up-and coming leaders in the field of education.
Your donation will make a significant difference and help us continue our work to promote inclusive education and equal opportunities for the deaf community in India.
We need your support to raise $4000 to cover the costs of sending our two deaf teachers to the WFD conference.
Here’s a breakdown of the expenses:
$200 per person: WFD Registration fee
We need to pay $400 for the registration of our two teachers.
$800 per person: Flight/Transportation
The cost of transportations for our two teachers is $1600.
$300 per person: Hotel
We need $600 for lodging expenses for our two teachers during the conference.
$700 per person: Visa + other expenses
We need $1400 to cover visa and other miscellaneous expenses for our two teachers.
We are seeking sponsors and donations to help us cover the costs of sending two of our teachers to the event. Your donation would cover the cost of flights, lodgings, meals, visas, local transportation, and conference registration fees. We believe that this investment will have a tremendous impact on our organization and the deaf community in India.
As an online organization, we have been able to reach several hidden gems of deaf leaders who have not had the opportunity to be involved in deaf organizations or movements due to living in rural areas. With your help, we can continue to empower these leaders and give them the opportunity to network with other deaf teachers and leaders from around the world.
Please consider supporting us in this endeavor. Your donation will make a significant difference and help us continue our work to promote inclusive education and equal opportunities for the deaf community in India.
